Green Smoothies

Popeye was RIGHT
Green smoothies are the best delivery system for the most nutrient dense foods on Earth- leafy green vegetables and fruit. Period. I like to keep it simple- I usually start with half of a can of coconut milk and at least the same amount of filtered water, 2 or 3 types of fruit (almost always banana and frozen berries), a tbsp. of ground flax seed, and as much spinach or kale as I can blend up (at least 3 large handfuls). I add the greens in stages since I don't have a $400 super blender. My Cuisinart off the shelf from Costco does just great. Costco is also where we buy our spinach (a huge bag of washed baby spinach is around $5), frozen mixed berries, and most of our other fruits and vegetables.
Green smoothies taste great! The high chlorophyll flavor compounds completely give way to the fruit flavors, and if it wasn't bright green you wouldn't know there was anything in it but fruit. To my tastebuds, anyway.
So here is a good basic starter video for the curious.

Green smoothie videos abound on YouTube. Here is another good one.
